The Safeway store in the Portrero shopping Center is a good store and very important to the residents that live near the Mission district, Portrero Hill, and near the Van Ness corridor. To review Safeway soley on emotions is shorting the real importance of this store. I have worked near the store for 15 years and i can respect the existence of Safeway. I especially respect how Safeway supports the community with great produce, a deli counter, and the everyday staples needed to function in life. The store survived the "Shelter In Place" conundrum and by doing so kept the community healthy and safe. All I can say is Thank you.

Best Safeway in sf. Plenty of parking easy to get to with lots of other shops and pet friendly with the spca just down the street or car stuff at orileys around the corner.
A supermarket chain with plenty of options to choose from in a spacious location that was looking neat: all clean and perfectly organized. High amounts of ready to eat meals for good/acceptable prices. Staff was helpful and both the salads and the tomato soup that I bought were yummy. They offer discounts for members and when I said that I didn't have a membership card, the staff lend me one so I wouldn't miss the savings.
I find all the goods I use at reasonable prices and when they've done BOGO ads they've been on the up and up, meaning I'm not paying the price of two for one I'm actually getting the second one free. Of course we can all find that other markets have "some" cheaper prices but who wants to drive around to get one or two things a little cheaper? So for the most part I've always been satisfied with my experience @s Safeway. .
Can't say I've had a problem at this Safeway. The aisles seem to be clean and well organized. Security guards are present at the exits and the parking lot has video cameras. Prices are tease, especially if you sign up for their membership or use app coupons.
The only downside of this store is the early closing hours. Besides that this is very convenient and always has items in stock.
